Open
Homes: Life within four walls.
Walls block movement of light. Walls block movement
of air. And most importantly, they block movement
of people. So we removed some walls.
But
that was just the first step. Our engineers then
built concealed openings in roofs that draw in
fresh air like a funnel. And skylights that bathe
the interiors of the house with warm sunshine.
The
result? Rohan Ashima. Or Open Homes, as we know
them.
Sprawled
over 3.5 acres of greenery at Brookefield, Rohan
Ashima is home to 64 split-level town houses.
It's miles from the din of the city, yet minutes
from civilisation.
Every
home at Rohan Ashima is a town house. In other
words, town houses are independent homes built
adjacent to each other, with a sturdy common wall
between them. Yet, they have been staggered to
break the monotony.
At
Rohan Ashima, 30% of the land is shimmering waterscapes
and lagoons with stone slabs that you can walk
on. Stroll through the greenery and you will notice
that there are no driveways. You see, we've restricted
parking to the basement, through a single driveway
at the entrance. So the grounds are filled with
colourful flower beds and gently swaying trees.
And the homes seem to rise out of the greenery.
